Hi adrift,

When you use any dish detergent for your garden soil or plants, make sure that it does not contain Sodium Hydroxide, but that it has Potassium hydroxide in it!!!

Sodium Hydroxide is a NO-NO for the soil and or plants!!

But Potassium hydroxide may be used!!
