Iodine and Poison Ivy

OK, so every spring, I get a classic case of poison ivy. You would think after all these years, I would have my lesson learned, but NO! I keep going back and having another lesson. I sometimes wonder about me. I go into my back yard and immediately go straight to the poison ivy. I get rid of it, but it does come back every year.

Anyway, yesterday the poison ivy began appearing on my arm and I said S*%##! I put lotion on it and my usual epsom salt/baking powder paste mixture, which does help to dry it up pretty quickly. But, not quick enough for me.

This morning my eureka moment came when I decided to apply Iodine directly on my poison ivy. (I am going to use the word apply instead of paint because the word paint doesn't get it for me---applying the Iodine is a lot easier for me to understand.) So, I did and what I am noticing so far is the water blisters are NOT forming and it has stopped itching.

I will let you guys know what happens as I continue to apply the Iodine on my weekend trophies.

Paulette
