Re: Bullhead (edit)
Hi Wombat,
I am aware of the glycemic index (GI) and find it interesting. I happen to believe that the GI is probably very helpful. Unfortunately, what I have found with diabetes is foods don't necessarily "act" as you might suppose or according to the GI. For instance, I can eat brown rice which is supposed to be a slower uptake of carbs and my blood glucose (BG) goes way high. I love rice yet it has become "evil" in my world. I can have ice cream or chocolate and my BG barely moves (yay!!! Could be due to high fat content), or a slice of rye bread and up it goes. Anyway, I find myself on a very low carb diet most of the time (boo!!!!). Some diabetics can eat rice, some can eat breads or potatos and some can eat fruit or drink fruit juices. None can eat all of them without consequences (high BG levels) and some can not eat any of them without consequences.
I imagine that a good long colon cleanse,
kidney cleanse and a fast for at least 10 days will help with my uptake of carbs. I have been reading and learning for a couple months now. As I've gone along I have tried some things that might give some quick success such as liver flushes, anti-
parasite formulas,
Iodine and such. What I am coming to realize is that I may need a more thorough program, done in the proper order before I see the progress I desire. It took years to get me here, I hope the road back doesn't take years, but I'm stubborn if it does.
Regards,
Roger
