Interesting that you refer to a Conspiracy regarding iodine. Old health book I have shows an item entered into the congressional record regarding Communism wanting to get flouride into America's water systems. Yes, conspiracy! Flouride is an Iodine replacer.

Then, of course, we have the brominated foods -- many of them. The Iodine was silently removed and replaced by the bromides. Another Iodine killer.

And, of course, all the mercury. I understand it used to be called Quack Silver. More iodine replacement.
