Minor vent -- got blasted for sharing "potentially dangerous information" regarding iodine
I frequent two forum/bulletin board sites -- one regarding infertility and this one. I know the infertility site is full of allopathically-minded people and my bits of information are usually ignored, and I truly should have known better -- but I was so excited about what I've been learning, and know that so many women who deal with fertility issues can be helped if they just get the right amount of
Iodine (insulin resistance, PCOS, thyroid weakness, etc.), that I couldn't help myself and I posted a lot of links and descriptions.
And then got blasted by others (not the board moderator) for posting potentially dangerous information. They're reasoning is that the links I posted were "all" commercial sites selling something (not true) and that without presenting scientifically documented studies and peer reviews, people could be led to take a supplement that could be harmful.
As if you're going to be harmed by a drop or two of Lugol's. As if you are *not* harmed by eating a McDonald's hamburger, or ingesting one of those "miraculous" FDA-approved wonderdrugs that a year later are pulled off the market because people are dying.
UGH! I don't even have the energy to debate it with them (or the mental capacity yet -- still waiting for my Lugol's). I just deleted my post on the most offensive board, but left it on others. Now I just need to find a way to let it go because it has me kind of upset.
Thank you for letting me vent. I figure if I got one person to look into iodine, it should be worth the frustration and aggravation of dealing with those who (hmm, how to put this nicely).... no clue right now, so I'll just leave it at that. :D
