Every now and then one needs to endure a little heat so that, if for no other reason, one gets a bit accustomed to the experience and can begin learning how to adapt to that conditon. Web forums are great for aiding this particular learning experience. It seems that some times, a lot of people are hesitant to say what they honestly think OR feel for a given topic because they are still thinking in conventional terms of discussions where they are face to face (or phone to phone.... in person) with people and the dynamic is quite a bit different. On the web, all we are with respect to how others view us is just some knickname/handle who has a particular familiar style about how they post / talk, on-line. Otherwise, we're invisible to each other....except perhaps for the super secret homeland security spies "looking out for our best interests" ;) In other words, let 'er rip, no need to hold back, don't hesitate to tell your forum neighbors what's on your mind, what you think and what you feel as the case may be. I'm not advocating being rude or impolite, but neither am I advocating being somebody who feels a need to stand down to others. Think of this as just a valuable learning experience in the art of communication/discussion.
This said, there was a definite red flag raised in what you had posted earlier... .at least, it's something that I would take as a red flag indicating that some of the folks I'm involved in discussion with are not necessarily playing with a full deck of their own cards, but instead are attempting to play with cards that somebody else gave them so they could pretend they are their own cards.
"and that without presenting scientifically documented studies and peer reviews..."
This kind of red flag would also whisper to me that - depending on what I was looking to get out of the debate, it might not be not worth the expending of energy to continue discussion/debate with such closed minded people in the first place..... but then again, if I was in the mood to get in some extra practice....just for the fun of it, perhaps.....then it very well might be worth giving up the energy necessary to do this :)
Something nearly all of us have in common is that permeating our combined conscious & subconscious existance is the waste and residue of the never-ending flow of varied, multi-faceted, dressed-up, public-opinion-shaping propaganda that we have been constantly bombarded with all our lives. Included in this swamp of conventional wisdom that plays for us, subliminally in many instances, 24-7, is the notion that our high institution of mainstream "science" and their pet notion of "peer reviews" constitute genuine, legitimately gathered facts; baloney! Frequently there is little basis in actual fact that
Science and their peer reviewed studies are credible and worth anything more than the $$ that covertly funded them in the first place. Mainstream
Science does not study anything on a whim, nor do they decided to not study anything on a whim. What they end up being motivated to study, and not, is to the tune of he/she who pays the piper; plain and simple. Given the establishment we've been stuck with the past century or so, the ruse is a fairly simple one to pull off. The same filthy rich filthy people that had mastered control & operation of money/banking/finances/commerce/industry by as early as early 1900s were then able to parlay that power & influence into seizing control of other institutions - such as education - lower and higher. Control of higher education (and the colleges and universities and Deans and "endowements" they ride in on) also means control of many other related institutions/industries, to include
Science and medicine and religion. It also means that those in control of these institutions have been able to edit and re-write history so that they can continually cover up the their own filthy tracks of having perpetrated all this ... or at least try to, in the process.
When one considers how much influence and control is in the hands of those who control our high institutions, it immediately stops being a mystery, and it immediately stops being inconceivable that such a
Conspiracy could exist. It immediately stops being these and instantly becomes a no-brainer. And do not expect there to be any peer-reviewed scientific studies out there to back up these statements :)
All this said, stop beating yourself up and coming off like you did something wrong or improper by posting whatever you posted on that other board; you didn't. It's still a free world....kinda.....partly......sorta..... so try to enjoy it for whatever it may be worth, to you, while it lasts :)
