Re: ORDINANCES? what, no Miranda rights?
"That's a very good example of the legalistic attitude we've been taught. No matter what our character or the intentions of our heart, we've been taught to separate Godliness into many different aspects and categories according to human ways of knowledge (our ways are not God's ways). What keeps us from understanding the real message of scripture (after claiming Jesus as Savior, the real message is summed up in The Sermon On The Mount,...which the good samaritan exemplifies) is that we insist on analyzing scripture to death academically as though it is a
Science or legal document."
The good samaritan's place in the sermon on the mount would be Matt. 7:21-24, because he wasn't building on the Rock.
Jesus used a Samaritan in His parable to show us we need to love people of other beliefs too.
It was His answer to Luke 10:29 But he, willing to justify himself, said unto Jesus, And who is my neighbor?
So Jesus was telling a Jew that the idol worshipping Samaritans are also his neighbors, and he should love them as himself.(from Luke 10:27)
