A Head Scratcher

I've been having chronic sinus problems/infections for about a year now. Structural abnormalities such as polyps or a deviated septum have been ruled out. It is now believed that I have an enlarged turbinate in my left nostril. It is very difficult to blow mucous out of that nostril and I can't smell much, if it all out of that nostril. Is it possible to shrink an enlarged turbinate bone once it has been chronically swollen? I've been told it is impossible to correct without some kind of surgical procedure. From what I've read, the side effects can be horrific from any kind of procedure done to the turbinates. So, can I expect to get relief and cure this supposedly incurable condition as I continue to fast and cleanse or, am I doomed to deal with this for the rest of my life? Any thoughts would be appreciated.
