First off, it appear that the ENT approach sinus infections by ordering a CAT scan, starting antibiotics and steroids and then if the infection, is not going away. It is time to consider sinus surgery then you have time to look at options . Of course if the sinus issue is life threatening you get the surgery and get on IV antibiotics.


If you opt for surgery then ask every single thing the doctor plans to do write it down and research the effects of each thing and the risks. Then ask how much bigger is the surgeon planning on making the drainage holes if they say four time larger . This is good time to consider being MORE conservative than that ...and how about only slightly larger, because you do not want ENS or anything to drastic. The nose turbinates should not be touched in my opionion, since they send message to the brain regarding air flow so do not let them just start doing radical things! So, know your stuff before your sitting in front of a doctor .

For many people just stopping dairy, wheat and sugar can help a lot going organic is important I would suggest the elimination food diet since that is the most accurate way way to determine food allergies over scratch test according to my ND. Also wheat and dairy have a cross reaction .

Find an Naturopathic doctor or Chinese medicine doctor and see if they can help you nail down the cause, and help with the inflammation.

Be sure that a sinus surgeon isn't just trying to sell you a surgery. If you decide on surgery then find the best and most CONSERVATIVE SINUS ENT SURGEON find the one that cares more about you, your welfare not about the big price tag, I would avoid the ENT that is pushing you a 21,000 dollar sinus surgery that your insurance will pay for so he can make his quota.
