theory of cognitive dissonance

21676, there is a theory called the theory of cognitive dissonance, first popularized by a university professor in the 1950s in his book of the same name. The theory explains why people still reject the truth, even when it is presented to them on the proverbial "silver platter." What the cognitive dissonance theory states, is that people will accept or reject any new information NOT because of its truth or falsity, but rather because of its "mesh" with the other ideas that person may already have. That is why people here on curezone are somewhat resistant to the truth that you are telling them. In simple language, they have been brainwashed, by the "image makers" who have infected American society ever since Edward Bernays's time. (Bernays [q.v.] was the nephew of Sigmund Freud, another infamous anti-Christian termite, gnawing away at the edifice of western European civilization.) There is a famous old French proverb, "The messenger who brings the truth had better keep one foot in the stirrup." You are seeing that proverb's wisdom, right here on Curezone. But the truth is still the truth, and FWIW, I appreciate what you post here. As for so-called "majorities": A gang rape might be "majority rule," but it certainly isn't right, 21676. So let your conscience be your guide .....
