Re: Any mom's of young children doing it?
I don't haveto prepare for anyone except my dogs, but we all face temptation....those who make food for others just face 100 (or 1000 or a million) times more!
Here is what I have done to help me stay on the MC: I believe in a higher power (as a recovering alcoholic, over four years sober, I KNOW my higher power is there!) and I turn over my temptation to Him (my higher power is God.) I shoot up a prayer asking God to give me the strength to get through whatever it is I'm facing (it may sound trivial to some, but that includes temptation on the
Master-Cleanse for me), and He always comes through if I let Him.
During my first MC, I prayed a lot...I had a lot of cravings and pseudo-hunger (it wasn't real hunger, but just hunger pangs set off by seeing other people eating in real life or on TV). On subsequent cleanses, it has gotten a lot easier to stay on the
Master-Cleanse once I get over the initial detox hump of the first day or two. Since I know that the first few days will probably be horrible, but "this too shall pass," I have been able to stay on it and pass through the worst.
I have to say, though, that I take off time from work when necessary (and it usually is necessary to take at least one day off at the beginning, when the worst detox is going on like the caffeine withdrawal). I think it would be very hard to keep working (e.g. like you are doing with the kiddies) and going through the detox. But I know it can be done...I have read about other people here doing it. You may want to do a "tapering off" like Somer suggests where you taper off the caffeine and eat mainly fruits and veggies for a first few days before starting a
Master-Cleanse to ward off the worst detox symptoms you'll probably get if you go cold turkey.
Happy cleansing...don't give up five minutes before the miracle!
