no, the really cool shoes are traditional native mukluks using moose for the soles, seal for the uppers, caribou for the legs, and wolverine for the ruff. caribou hairs are hollow so they super insulate. moose is tough. seal , well seal keeps a warmblooded mammal alive in 20 degree saltwater. wolverine is the most durable of all fur. the hairs in it are impregnated with an oil that does not allow frost to stick to it. that is why the best parkas are ruffed out with wolverine. second choice is wolf.

the world used to be wonderfully simple.
