Re: Anyone here ever get restless legs or nervousness

Not to make light of the situation, but I think some people call this "the jimmy legs", and as Frank Costanza pointed out to Cosmo Kramer one day "Estell has that in the arms...oh yeah Kramer, you CAN get them in the arms too".

At night when lying down to bed, I frequently have the jimmy feet, an unconscious urge to just sort of swirl one foot or the other back and forth. I think this is something that my mind chooses to do as a way to slow down enough to relax and fall asleep..... kinda like rocking a baby to sleep, back and forth, back and forth. There are times when I finally do notice this, stop, and there is then a brief sense of uneasiness in my mind, like "hey, I liked that rythmic back and forth, why did you tell me to stop?". During the day times I frequently get the jimmy fingers, especially between the forefinger and thumb, the forefinger tracing out patterns on the thumbnail. For whatever reason, my jimmy fingers decided a long time ago to settle on drawing out a figure 8 pattern........ shrug (i dunno). Again, this is something I do mostly unconsciously and often donot notice right away until...well, my mind finally consciously notices and says to itself "hey, what's up with this?".

For me, there has never been any pain associated with any of these jimmy legs, jimmy feet, and jimmy fingers. There may be an underlying illness that is no doubt being influenced by impromper diet, but I'm also pretty sure this is a manfifestation of obsessive/compulsive activity in my mind. This past week and a half I've had a song stuck in my head, you know? You go out some where, here a song and next thing you know, it's playing over and over in your head. The recent stuck song has been one of the longest durations of this situation I've ever noticed in myself. Again, I'm pretty sure this has something to do with patterns of obsessive thought. Many people have some mild form of obsessive thought activity and never really discover or know this. Again, for me, no pain.
