People are gullible and impressionable. The last time I looked, Citrus scented commercial household chemical products were quite the rage. Drugs cover up symptoms in general, citrus chemcial household products cover up odors in general. People growing gm'd fruit trees may be insane, or perhaps just ill-informed. Insane business people tend to be about focusing on petty things, like image and whatever else they can impress upon and get over on or cover up from the public - "hey, don't mind the thumbs growing out of my neck, just try to enjoy the soothing citrus aromas that we installed JUST to draw your attention away from what we are tryign to cover up!"
