Going through successive stages of the house concept..

Hi Forumfolk :-),

I am now looking at making the walls of the structure hip-high out of cob/adobe, with screens/windows/wood shutters all the way around, so I can open the whole thing to the outside air or close and air-condition or heat the space if I want to (Temps easily reach 100F here).

The floors have become wood, at least for now..

By the time I am finished, I want to arrive at something I can build myself with my own hands :-). Just one of those things I've always wanted to do :-).

As far as risks or predators, we have the occasional Black Bear, Panther or Bobcat here. Other than those there isn't too much to worry about, as long as the sructure can be secured in case of Hurricane.

PS: Is anyone else working out their own plan for their own house, or has anyone else already done this and built theirs?? Just curious how many may have done this kind of thing..:-) Tweet
