Re: The decision to have your kids circumsized or not
I'm also glad my parents circumsized me at birth. Sure, maybe I'm missing something with sex (but it feels pretty darned good to me), and maybe impotence and other dysfunctions are around the corner (though none so far). But the reason I'm glad I'm circumsized was when I grew up ALL guys were circumsized, and once the clothes came off there would have been lots of 'splainin to do.
I was pretty successful with the ladies, so the stigma likely wouldn't have been worth the benefits (or at least I don't think so). But these days are different, and depending on what part of the country you're in anywhere from 30-40% of kids are uncircumsized, so the stigma is minor at best anymore. And as a parent I felt not worth the incredible pain on their first day in the world and what is in effect a trivial benefit of slighltly easier hygene to avoid minor infections for what amounts to a sexual mutilation.
Actually I do remember times when I wished I was uncircumsized. Those were during periods of having highly sexed girlfriends where I kept getting rubbed so raw that I had to abstain from days at a time to heal. I figured with the foreskin in place it wouldn't have been a problem.
