4 year-old child's oozing, crusting eczema
Hi! I'm new to this forum, but like many of you I am exhausted! I'm frustrated with the doctors telling me what to give her for her eczema, only for it to suppress her symptoms. She was on Elecon first, then Nutracort and Elidel, Protopic, and finally Cutivate and Aclovate. The Protopic wasn't covered by insurance, so they recommended the "wonderful" steroid of Cutivate. The Cutivate works great, but is not for long term, which is silly because we need something to help her forever! We all know steroids are dangerous, now they find that the TIMs (Topical immunomodulators) are harmful as well. Seems like the doctors don't know WHAT's going on.
My problem is that my daughter, an Aquarius, is in very bad shape right now. Her personality is sweet, compassionate, very obedient, loving, everything you could wish for in a child. She is scratching behind her knees so badly, it pains her to walk. I performed EFT on her (Emotional Freedom Therapy, check it out at
http://www.emofree.com) to help with her legs, so she's walking better. Her skin is so raw, bath water stings. Recently, she was getting pus-filled bumps on her fingers that broke my heart. The doctor prescribed some oral and topical anti-biotics. This did not feel necessary, and I want to try something new. I bought her some chinese detox tea, but I haven't used it yet. I got so upset last night, I purchased some sulfur, as well as jojoba oil, flaxseed oil, pine tar shampoo, and vitamins with omega-3, fish oil, flax oil, and borage oil in them. I also picked up some children multi-vitamins which included biotin, as I've read that a biotin deficiency is a major cause of eczema. I also give her chamomile tea to drink at night.
What do I do? I don't even know where to start with these ingredients! Her cousin (my age) is angry that I don't want to take her back to the doctor and get another prescription, saying that "silly oils and teas aren't going to do anything when she becomes infected again." Can anyone help me on getting her onboard, as well as informed? I need her on my side because my daughter worships her. She also gives my daughter soda and lots of McDonalds. I'm not angry with her, because I know she loves the baby, but I want to have a meeting of the minds. I am lost. Please help.
Thanks,
Monique
