I was thinking the same thing about whether consuming olive oil during a fast is really fasting, although I wonder if everyone's needs are different, and it might be necessary for some. I don't know... I think I read the reason to take it is to keep the liver & gallbladder working and pushing stuff out, otherwise I guess they would sort of go to sleep during a fast, since it's fat that makes the liver/GB release bile? Would you want a back-up of bile, or does the body not produce enough bile to "back up" if one isn't consuming any fat? When you "fast" from fats the day of a liver flush, the reason is to allow bile pressure to build up in the liver & gallbladder so that the stones are forcefully expelled when you do the OO/Grapefruit that night. So wouldn't you get a major back-up of bile pressure during a fast if you consumed no fats for weeks at a time?
