My main gaol was to deter people from using the word selfish when debating abortion.

The phylosophy makes perfect sense. You help someone out, becasue how would you feel if you didn't? You would feel guilty if you didn't. You don't wnt to feel that way. On top of that you will also feel good about yourself. So you win both ways you not only don't feel guilty, but now you feel good about yourself.

I don't care if you believe it, you should however understand how it works. When you do you will hopefully stop throwing the selfish word around so freely (this thread was directed at you).

I just want people to realize that being selfish isn't black and white, neither is morality and right and wrong. There is so much phylosophy that goes into each of these ideas and until you've studied it, I don't think you should throw those words around, becasue then they are just renderd useless for your argument anyway.
