Re: Paul
I think that the confusion about law is caused by grouping them in one pot. There are basically three types.
1, The Ceremonial law contained in ordinances. Eph. 2:15
It was written by Moses. 2Chr. 35:12
It was abolished by Christ. Eph 2:15
It involved things like sacrificing animals, passover and circumcision.
It promoted feelings of guilt, remorse and pain. It dealt with sin.
2, Then you have miscellaneous laws from Moses. Things like don't eat pork, animals that died of themselves (sick ones), strangled animals (road kill). Don't marry your sibling.
These laws promoted health.(They didn't have Cure Zone)
3, The law of the Ten Commandments.
Written with the finger of God in stone (made to last). Ex.31:18.
It was not destroyed by Christ. Mat.5:17,18.
It promotes love for God and love for people, safety, honesty, respect and fidelity.
It is the law of the New Covenant. Heb. 8:10
Peace :-)
