Christ consciousness...
I don't believe Jesus died on the cross, but lived to travel on to India and Kashmir... so as he didn't 'survive the grave' and ascend up to heaven as many Christians believe.
There is gigantic difference in how I view the teachings of Jesus and how Orthodox Christianity does. Salvation through Christ is meaningless concept to me as is original sin, the virgin birth, Jesus as God or the son of God as a part of the Trinity etc.
Jesus was a great spiritual teacher and the most evolved being incarnate up to that time. He took on the state of Christ consciousness in the last days of his ministry in Jerusalem. However he did not die on the cross and he went on to teach for many decades.
Christ consciousness is a perfected reflection of the divine incarnated into earthly terms, and Jesus Christ was an incarnation of that perfected Infinite Soul. I, like
Edgar Cayce , like to think of Jesus as our "elder brother" and "the pattern" for our own spiritual growth.
BTW, your hunger analogy is interesting, however we have all been born and died numerous times. We are not first timers.
Original sin by definition is:
"Fallen man's natural sinfulness, the hereditary depravity and corruption of human nature because of Adam's fall." 1 That is, Adam and Eve's transgression when they ate of the forbidden fruit opened a gulf between God and humanity. Pollution from that sin has been inherited by all of Adam and Eve's descendants to the present day.
Not in MY universe, however...
