Hi Mo4,
From what I know about Paul (Saul in Hebrew), he was born at Tarsus in Cilicia.
He was of the tribe of Benjamin,the youngest son of Jacob.
He was a Pharisee in faith.
He studied law with Gamaliel at Jerusalem.

Acts 22:3 I am verily a man which am a Jew born in Tarsus, a city in Cilicia, yet brought up in this city at the feet of Gamaliel and taught according to the perfect manner of the law of the fathers, and was zealous toward God, as ye all are this day.

You can take the boy out of the country, but not the country out of the boy.

Paul was a law keeper, and he loved God. He just needed to be shown that Jesus was the long awaited for Christ.
In Acts 9:6 he accepted his call.

The texts on that site are worded very different from my bible.
