Whoopee! Spectacular Break!!
I broke this morning with a big glass of water, followed half hour later with a small spoonful of plain yogurt, three prunes and three walnut halves.
Not 15 minutes later my guts saw fit to evacuate a good pint of amazing gunk!!! Certainly it was nothing I had consumed anytime in the past ten days... so we are talking OLD gunk! With fur!!! (My naturopath has told me this fluffy type stuff is generally lymph related.)
And do I FEEL GOOD!!! I followed up with a plain water enema, and feel absolutely superhuman. Yesterday was day 40 in my series, which I believe has been as productive as the long unbroken fasts I have done in the past, but MUCH easier on my body, and much easier to break! I am very pleased with my summer cleanse!!!
LLL, so glad you are having a great experience. I agree, there is nothing like juice for support while cleansing. I surfed the net last night for "therapeutic fasting", and everything I read just confirmed the rightness of what we are doing. There are not many people who could not benefit from a good cleansing, particularly in light of what Americans (and indeed most of the world now that McDonalds is everywhere) consume on a very regular basis.
I will be traveling for most of September, but plan to get back to
juicing around October with a fall series much like the summer, all with the main goal of colon cleansing. Next year I would like to develop the habit of fasting one day per week, three per month and ten days twice a year. Imagine extending this clean, clear, light feeling... forever! Giving up junk (except occasional treats) seems a very small price to pay! Once you have worked as hard as I have to take out the trash, you really think twice about putting it back in.
In light of this morning's bounty (?!), I will be eating fruits and vegetables for the next few days to continue cleansing and flushing, then will gradually add grains, beans, fresh fish etc. to my diet. When the body is so obviously willing to continue cleansing and flushing, I would be a fool to throw a cheeseburger in the works!
Keep in touch!
