it's about caring

Autumn,
Thanks for the very thoughtful answer.
I'm talking about once very loving children who were possibly given to much and asked too little of, but very deeply loved and never abused in any way, who then became selfish and uncaring toward their father(divorced)and me. We're not perfect in any way, but they agree that they were very loved and parented.
It's just that they want to be with their friends and do their thing and only come by or are nice because they want money.
I worked in a prison and I've seen murderers, rapists and child molesters get more family support, cards, money, houses, business's, wives and girlfriends on the side than most people out here. It's astounding. So, my point is that it's not a sign of good character to have your children love you.
You can't demand love like you can respect.
Is it that life is just unfair? Is it Karma? I think it must be. My mother hated me from before I was born, and I never knew my dad. I had no one to care about me. But that made me love my children more.
Oh well, thanks again Autumn. Have a great holliday. I don't think I'll figure it out in this lifetime.
Peace, joy and love,
Gina
