I'd like to agree with the above poster about the cat. I also have a cat and it went missing for 7 days and then one day it came home again. I guess cats just do that sometimes. One thing to keep in mind is that cat's never venture too far from home. Hiding under a porch is pretty popular. If you are still really distressed I've heard there are people you can hire to find your missing pet.
