Apparently times change, Years ago I never noticed the 'thing' in Braggs, and the Omega was supposedly undiluted - as I am in UK I don't really have access to either one to compare...
But you can make your own vinegar once you have the Mother - First you ferment the apple juice to make Cidre, rack off, give it a good stir to oxygenate and add the Mother on top, and ferment again...or make your own Kombucha Tea.
