freelastchance, why in the world would you discuss this with people that use the zapper? of COURSE they think its safe.

however,

i asked my father, an electrical engineer, this question about danger from amperes vs volts...

he said, think of an ampere as the swiftness of the flow of a river. think of the voltage as the depth of the water. you can drown if the water is too swift, or if the water is too deep.

so its not true that only high amps can hurt you.
