Re: Healthy sprouted brownies and banana nut bread

You're welcome hun. Since being home sick I've had time to experiment :) lol. First I thought we could eat sprouted grains but then I researched further and until i get my insulin down and my hubbies triglycerides down I think we'll be on NO GRAINS for awhile until our levels are normal then sprouted grains in moderation......so he'll be sorry to hear he's eaten his last brownie and banana nut bread for awhile!! lol He said they are good and to be honest I've had it out on the counter for a week now and they are both still very moist!!

I haven't baked bread as yet, still buying ezekial bread in the freezer section.

I was looking forward to experimenting further with oatmeal cookies, bread, pizza dough, etc. but now have discovered NO GRAINS for awhile :(

Yes, I purchased the flour from that site directly, they must receive payment first and only use paypal for credit orders so I mailed them a check and then they mailed out the flour.

They have some recipes on their site, but remember sprouted flour requires more moisture than regular flour so the applesauce really did the trick and the raw honey. the first batch I made with powdered stevia and it was as hard as a rock.....so, if you use stevia then use the liquid added to the applesauce or xylitol.

I also made them without any added sweetner except for the banana's and applesauce and they just weren't sweet enough kind of bitter from the apples, I would suggest using applesauce and sweeten it with whatever sweetner you choose and taste it before adding it. Just add gradually. Thats what I did.

Who knows, I'm soo bored being at home I may still experiment and try to bake some cookies and muffins and let you know how it goes.....

we're doing our first Liver Flush tomorrow night. I'm praying with what I've been reading on this site that the flushes will do the trick and we can go back to eating sprouted grains because NO Grains at all are really really hard and NO FUN!!! lol

the wheat and rye are more for breads and the spelt is lighter and more for baking cakes, brownies, muffins, etc. i would imagine the spelt bread to be a lighter bread. haven't tried it yet.

Try to get your health food or specialty store to carry it, I'm in the process now but didn't want to wait so I ordered it directly. Also, let them know via email that you want it to go out US mail (the shipping is much cheaper) they will use a priority flat rate box but must be told to do so or they will send it out and the shipping will be much higher. I think the flat rate was $6.95 or 7.95? they can fit 5 2lb bags into the box! If you get one of your stores to carry it in the meantime you'll save on the shipping. I dealt with them via email and had no problems. i didn't use paypal.

They also carry pre-made mixes and they are pre sweetened with Pure Maple Syrup. I wanted to add my own as I've read raw honey, stevia and xylitol are the healthiest.

HAPPY BAKING!

If you create something wonderful........please post it! :) and I'll salivate over it and save it until I've done enough flushes to bake it :) lol
