Before I get an avalanche of hate-mail I will preface this by saying that I KNOW chocolate is not the healthiest of foods. Nevertheless, there are those...like myself...that will not give it up, and carob just doesn't cut it!
I've discovered an excellent alternative to this decadent treat. A company by the name of Yu is manufacturing organic soy and rice (brown and basmati) milks, and one of their rice milks is dark chocolate flavored. It has NO sweeteners in it...just rice milk and cocoa powder. Alone, it is a bit bitter...reminiscent of baking cocoa...but has a very rich chocolate flavor. Add a few drops of stevia, though, and you have the richest, creamiest chocolate milk I've ever tasted!
I imagine that if I threw it in a blender with a frozen banana it would probably send me over the edge! And, oh, the fudgesicles this would make!!! ;)
