Devolution
Why are you so sure "They were just like us way back"?
Why do we have to have a common ancestor?
If the 'aliens seeded the earth theory' is correct (and it is, BTW), then we were created by the Gods, however not in the same fashion that the creationists believe. The creator Gods we were created by were alien master geneticists, and they created humanoid species just like we create plant species, animal species and as we are on the verge of being able to clone and create human-like species ourselves.
And, BTW, where do you think the Egyptian and Summerian Gods came from? And Jehovah? ET's my friend! The Bhagavad Gita is full of extra terrestrial battles and the Summerian's left a complete history of alien visitations. Zachariah Sitchin wrote a dozen books just on that one subject.
Anyway, Modern man is NOT a recent evolutionary development.
There is a eye opening book called Forbidden Aarcheology, which presents a great deal of evidence of human habitation (by MODERN MAN) that is millions and even ten and hundreds of millions of years old, from veins in coal mines, from rock quarries, and from wells dug hundreds and thousands of feet underground. Of course this doesn't fit with the narrow dogmatic 'religious like' views of the consensus reality and the church of archaeology, so those discoveries are ignored.
Although, we had help in our so called 'evolution into matter' from alien hands, Michael Cremo, who wrote Forbidden Archaelogy, and now a new book, Devolution, makes an interesting point:
Forbidden Archeology documented a massive amount of evidence showing that humans have existed on earth for hundreds of millions of years. Such anomalous evidence, contradicting Darwinian evolution, catalyzed a global inquiry, "If we did not evolve from apes, then where did we come from?"
"We did not evolve up from matter; instead we devolved, or came down, from the realm of pure consciousness, spirit," says Cremo. He bases his response on modern
Science and the world's great wisdom traditions, including the Vedic philosophy of ancient India. Cremo proposes that before we ask the question, "Where did human beings come from? we should first contemplate, "What is a human being?" Cremo asserts that humans are a combination of matter, mind, and consciousness (or spirit).
Now, this is a study that craves attention...
