Re: Terror in the Name of God
This was an interesting article Lapis.
I sure hope nobody sees this as a religious war; because if they do it would be undermining everything the bible and Jesus stood for.
But, again, I don't like how Buzzflash targets Bush so specifically. One man is not responsible for the perpetration of a war. The administration, generals and soldier of both countries (America and Iraq) and all militarily involved countries are equally responsible for the outcomes of the war. Each plays an intricate role in the murder of innocent or non-so-innocent people and the displacement of hundreds of thousands of fellow human beings. Bush is a messanger for his administration and beyond that his powers and responsibility are unknown to us.
Maybe he is a mass murderer hiding behind a christian fascade single-handedly manipulating the entire world populace to achieve his own ends. Or maybe, and how I see it, he is a puppet to an unknown number of political bullies (both American and not) and, as such, is taking the heat for a disasteriously un-Christian decision. Our anger is better vented at the evil acts (ie Satan) and not the world's most highly scrutenised personality.
