Might I add, while we're on the topic, that the soy bandwagon came along as a result of American farming policy, encouraging farmers to plant corn and soy from fence to fence (everywhere). These large amounts need to be used somehow, so then people started promoting the health advantages of soy. Well, there are some things that people see in it, but there are more disadvantages that people aren't aware of.

The bottom line is, as usual, about the dollar. If you read the book "Fat Land: How Americans became the fattest nation in the world" you can read more about this. Money is the reason why soy is popping up in popularity and being plugged so by government health agencies and pharmeceutical corporations. On the other side of the coin, notice how high fructose corn syrup is being added to almost everything possible? The same reason is behind it, and the Sugar in that goes straight to the liver, one of many reasons so many Americans (in particular) are getting fatter and fatter, and more incidence of diabetes. Things are always more than they seem on the surface...
