i am am about 90 % vegan and i ea an dconsume almost no soy product. surprising ly quite alot of other vegens don't either.
i don't like the taste of it at all. i get calcium form juiced veggies/ and if i really need a milk substitute. coconut milk home made is very easy to do tastes great !!!.
also we rarely buy anything with corn syrup in it.
if iwa nt to amke a home made treat/ i can melt 100 % cocoa in small bit of virgin coconut oil add maybe a malls bi tof peanut butteer and dip banansa or such whatever into it an dput on tray in freezer ofr 15/30 minutes
there are many ways to get around stuff/ use applesauce in baking/
rahter than oil. etc. i do liek
Sugar on a few things/
so instead i put grade b maple syrup on a grapeeefruit / i know that sounds terrible . but it really is good.
there are very few things i
Sugar nowadays , but when i do , i usssse the maple syrup instead of proceseed sugar...
i agree folks nee dto b eduacated/ on chnags in diet/
but not all vegans are soy eaters. in fact al;ot of vegans... (tho not me) arre not able to handle soy/ digestively / so avoid it for that reasosn also.
maybe once amonth i MIGHT have a soy vegetable pattie/ but relaly ususlaly not/ cause i liek brown rice and beans and veggetables as a meal to make on my own/ it is cheaper/than buying the patties anyhow...
i think the folks that buy the most soy are those that maybe have just becoem vegetarians and are not sure yet on what htey should eeat... they jsut assume they HAVE to eat soy... (blech )
it is sad. when thee ar e so may good tastign and better protein stuff to amek anyhow.
