It may or may not be - who told you it was bs? I think if you ask around on this site you'll see that a lot of us experienced all kinds of pain and discomfort when we started to clean up our bodies. When I gave up smoking and alcohol and cut out meat my ankles became so painful I ended up on crutches. No swelling or outward bruising, just excruciating pain in both my ankles. I couldn't even use the crutches because putting any weight on my ankles was just too painful. I went to the emergency room and got x-rayed, and nothing showed up, they treated me like I had a screw loose. I told them about the changes to my lifestyle and of course they told me it couldn't have been caused by that. It took a few weeks to gradually go away, which was a gaint pain in the a** because I have a house to run, a son to look after and full time college. Healing reactions come in all shapes and sizes, and doctors tend not to acknowledge them. If you're really scared and you do decide to see your doctor, please think twice before letting them talk you into taking any kind of medication, or telling you that healing reactions don't exist - they do, I've had them and so have most of us here.
