Aquaphor for baby

Hi,

I have a 4 month old girl, and she has severe case of eczema/allery. The doctor has asked to use Aquaphor. Do you think it will work.

I hate to do it, but I've been applying hydroscortisone 1%(sometimes 2 1/2% when it flares up and the skin becomes oozy), but it isn't helping much. My baby was even hospitalized for a few days as she wasn't feeding well, and had infection. She also had severe cradle cap. I am really worried, when will she get relieved from this. She is exclusively breastfed, I've stopped taking cow's milk, wheat, etc., but I haven't found the cause of her allergy. Please let me know what I can do from my side.
