Re: RE:Dangers of Chiropractic

i have to agree, i was under chiropractic care for many years. at first it seemed to help. when i developed fibromyalgia, it did not help. actually it made matters worse. my body could not hold an adjustment. i feel that, message, clean living, cleansing your body of junk, heathly eating, exercise is very important. plenty of rest. plenty of fluids. i also had physical therapy for six months years ago, through an MD. it helped very much. some chiropractors will make you think that you dont need an md, or medicine at any time. well, my father was one of those victims. he was under chiropractic care for over 25 years. the past ten years, he did not go to an MD. he put all of his trust in this chiropractor, who told dad every month on his visit that he was very healthy. dad was 79 years old, and died of advanced bladder cancer last dec,2003. he had just seen the chiropractor, and like usual he told dad he was very healthy. well, dad was not healthy, this cancer had been growing for years. we all had faith in this doctor. we took dad into the er on nov 15, 2003 for swelling of the legs. immediatly they put a cathetor in as they saw his tummy was swollen. this caused his bladder to collapse, which cuased him to start hemmoraging. this was the beginning of a month of hell. my dad had 4 major surgeries in 1 week. they removed his bladder, prostate, part of his colon. in the end he had 2 bags to use the bathroom through. then he suffered a stroke. he never came home. he suffered immensly. he could not comunicate with all of the tubes in him. he was in extreme pain, we had to stay on the doctor to give him pain meds. dad died on dec. 15th 2003, after loosing 40 pounds in 4 weeks, had a morphine drip in his vein that i demanded. the last time i saw my dad, his mouth was hanging open, he was moaning, and staring off into space, its hard to hold back the tears at this point. so, as far as chiropractors, you also need an MD. funny thing, this doctor has not called my mom or sent a card, didnt even come to the funeral. i would say, ( guilty) PS my mother also went to this doc. for ten years, but did go to the MD also. she is very upset by the whole thing. you see, the worst is, mom and dad had just moved into a brand new home. dad lived there 12 days. we are still trying to sell the old home stead. i miss my dad more that i can say. good luck to all of you!!!!!!!! please have regular physicals by an MD.
