Re: Too much bile causes constipation??????

Hi Shiny,

I, too, have been taking the Coptis and Chinese Bitters for the past several weeks. My understanding is this: the extra flow of bile helps us digest our food better making the chyme made in our bowels more compact and hard. Does that make sense? Julia Chang cautions about it on her site. I have been extra careful to try to take a little extra Epsom Salts on certain days, or Colosan on my days off, for this very reason, as I am also taking Threelac, which can be constipating.

I do not understand everything about the bile. I know one person who had her gallbaldder removed, and now has to take a bile binder to keep her from having diarrhea on a daily basis. So maybe it goes through another process besides just being stored once the bile gets into the gallbladder. It is confusing, I agree.

Also, were you taking the Chinese Bitters and Gold Coin Grass at the same time. Julia Chang thinks the two together may be too much for the liver to handle. Just curious?
