I sure hope so. I really love my pets, a few in which have already died some terrible deaths right before my eyes... I remember my bunny specifically, she looked at me as if she didn't want to leave me as she died. Tore me up inside. I'm also pretty close to some objects that I've owned ever since I was born. I keep them upon a shelf. I know materialistic things don't have souls, but I love them, and love is light, so maybe God can shine the light on everything :)
