Desparate, please help
Hi
My story started when i was 15 (now 31) and had my first IBS episode. This was to be followed by chronic idiopathic urticaria, and various other sinus related problems. About 5 years ago I suffered my first episode of vertigo, and 3 yrs ago was diagnosed with an underactive thyroid for which I take medication. My history shows multiple use of
Antibiotics from birth for coughs colds etc, until the last 5 years when I have received 5 high doses of
Antibiotics for Hpylori.
My reason for requiring help is that although the above symptoms have been troublesome I was able to live with them until during my second pregnancy in 2002 when in the third trimester after I had had a false alarm and was given 2 steriod injections, I suddenly developed vertigo that lasted for the last 10 weeks of pregnancy. I couldn't go out, stand up for longer than about 5 seconds before thinking I was going to faint.
Things have gradually improved, and after an MRI with dye to check the nerves of the inner ear, (which was thankfully all normal) I was told that the problem was due to a cold virus that I had before I went into hospital and that the dizziness was due to that.
I consulted a kinesiologist who diagnosed Candida and I am embarking after a year of hopping on and off the wagon on an anti Candida programme. What worries me is that each time I start to do this, I get really bad vertigo and I get frightened and stop the herbal supplements. I have been taking probiotics for a couple of months now and my stomach is starting to feel a bit better, but I started taking some aged garlic tablets a week ago and they brought on a bad vertigo episode.
I basically wanted to ask if anyone out there has had similar symptoms and how do you cope with killing off the candida while looking after two small children?
I haven't eaten anything with yeast in for over a year now ( I used to love marmite sandwiches and ate about 3 rounds a day when I was pregnant - probably not a sensible move), but it's the
Sugar that I have trouble with. I am a
Sugar addict, I know, but I really want to get better and am hoping that 2004 will be the year to do it.
My current health isn't too bad, but I still have brain fog and can't stand in one position for too long before I feel like I am sinking into the ground. My balance is fine but I just get this sinking feeling when I stand for more than a few seconds, which doesn't help when you are tired.
I would love to hear from anyone in a similar situation.
Happy New Year to you all.
