Re: need help urgently
Position is not that important as long as she is lying down. You can gently pinch the buttocks together to help her retain the oil or
Sea Salt solution. It's tricky to break up or remove a hardened mass of stool, but sometimes you can move it to the side with the fingers from one hand while you insert the enema tube to allow the water to flow in past it. This presumes that you have an enema bag hanging that will allow you to use your other 2 hands freely.
But if by this time, or for sure by Wednesday morning, if she hasn't experienced a large evacuation of stool, then it's time to seek professional assistance. The doctor may agree to send a visiting nurse to your home to remove the impaction.
She doesn't need a colonoscopy, but she does need a complete cleansing of her large intestine (colon)! The reason the doctor might have suggested the colonoscopy was to take a snippet of a a section of the descending colon to biopsy for Hirschprungs Disease, which is an absence of muscles in a portion of the colon which can be the cause of lifetime constipation.
But no matter what, and I'm sure you are, be especially gentle with this child. She is probably suffering extreme discomfort from her ordeal and in need of lots of tender loving care.
All the best to both of you,
Valerie
