Re: mucoid plaque is so gross!!!

Hi bswatch, I have been reading this website with fascination ever since I found it a couple of weeks ago. I am glad to read a letter like yours, at last someone with a bit of common sense! I am a nutritional therapist and I tend to agree with you (even after reading Robert Gray, apparently the leading expert in the world on this subject) I believe a build up of old faeces happen in a low fibre, high protein and dehydrating diet causing a distension of the stomach. This would mainly sit around in the caecum because the bowel is struggling to push it up hill, most cancers occur in this region. It then becomes compressed dry and blackened particularly if bowel motility has been compromised. this is stale old faeces, not mucoid plaque. I believe a healthy high fibre alaline rehydrating diet (eliminating wheat, dairy and most animal products) will eventually restore a healthy bowel in all cases. The last thing I would advise any of my clients to do would be to put purging/"cleansing" substances into an already poorly functioning bowel. I have seen psyllium cause misery, bloating and constipation in many cases, it is a substance which will not help when a bowel has collapsed on itself or has narrowed, or developed diverticular pouches. As you say, nice idea but restoring the health of a bowel that has been abused for many years takes more than a cleanse, you have to look at the body and mind wholistically
