As far as I can determine, this is not a fact. It seems to be a lingering myth originating from Dr. Kellogg many years ago. The information you refer me to by a Dr. Anderson seems to be written by someone who wishes to sell us a product. I did a search on PubMed for "mucoid plaque" and could not find anything. I am still looking for some real science.
