Wow, thank you for the honor you give me, most people do not go around asking for my ideas because they think I live in another world. Which brings me to the last point in your lettter. I feel just like you. I do not listen to what people have to say regarding my daughter, she's my responsability, I'll make my own mistakes, thank you. Of course I'm also told that I'm too strict, yadda, yadda,yadda. But you know, my parents were too strict with me, and for years I went around sulking that I couldn't do all that my friends were doing. Today I thank them so much, because what they instilled in me helped me to avoid horrible trappings. And even though it has been no picnic, my sense of self-worth, moral convictions and the desire to do the honorable thing, has allowed me to survive awful odds.
Although I was given lots of moral guidelines to live by, religion of any kind was not part of the menu, so I was kind of an agnostic/atheist, and education didn't help any. But later I found on my own. However it was here that I also found a place where things made sense and people of like mind. Before that I was just sort of floating in confusion, but after developing a relationship with God to where I can talk to Him and actually get to hear him back, all the pieces of the puzzle came together. (Oh, BTW, while we're on the subject, I've been praying for you, but I wasn't going to tell you..hee,hee)
I think you are doing a wonderful job with your daughter. You are giving her values, morals, respect etc. in a very unsteady world. But you know exactly what you're doing. Any mistakes you make will just be part of her learning process, but she'll be O.K. if you just keep doing what you feel is best. "Yes sir!"
