Re: WOW! I found it :o)
Oh, so there you are!
well, we agree on many things again. Yup, public school was not an option for me either, and yes, I definitely think that as single parents trying to give structure and solidity is a lot more challenging, therefore the private/religious school setting is a more suitable place. I try to keep my daughter somewhat sheltered from many of the things that are out there. I allow for very few t.v. programs, mostly limited to very old cartoons and videos which I choose for her. I don't want her exposed to the licentiousness and occultism of many newer movies and programs. What's really neat is that at school that is reinforced, so it makes it easier for me to set the limits, because I have back-up and she sees it as natural.
I wholeheartedly agree there is a major difference between religion and spirituality, but there is another underlying premise as well. Since this is the
Christianity Forum , I don't mind telling you here that I am bothered by the worship of Mary and the saints. No matter what else, and there is also a lot of good, but this to me takes away from the centrality of Jesus as savior. I am no fanatic, but I can't compromise that one. I also feel free to tell you this because you mentioned that you were raised southern baptist and being that I sympathize with many of their positions (as well as disagree with others), but on the whole I like their stressing on relationship with God.
Are there any good baptist schools in your area?
