Spirit and Ghost of Christ
Jesus taught in parables to help people think for themselves. Each person has a spirit, soul or ghost of themselves, which will live past the death of the body.
The soul knows right from wrong, and makes the decisions, through connections with the human brain.
Prayer can take many forms. Jesus suggested that prayers be made in his name, to God, and that the prayers would be answered. Was this a parable or a truth? I think that prayer can work through many channels, and the choice of channels is not always important, and prayers are answered through channels that may surprise us.
There are spiritual channels through whcih prayers are answered. Whatever we call those channeels, God, Allah, Jesus, Budha, our ancestors, conglomerations of Gods, or anything else, is only helpful for the community in which the individual finds himself. It is more effective to have more people praying with you.
Was it a parable that Jesus was saying he was the path to God? Didn't Jesus also say that each of us could pray directly to God? Didn't Jesus also say that we are all children of God, in the same way that he was the Son of God?
The spiritual lessons of Jesus do not rest on the extent to which Jesus was a Savior, or the extent to which Jesus himself posessed super-natural powers.
