Not at all! Just the opposite. In order for Abraham to show his faith and love for God, he entered into the covenant with him and became a new being because of his faith. In order to him and his decendants to be identified with the God of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob, they kept to the covenant by circumcizing their offspring. For this God was different than all other gods. It was a proclamation on behalf of their God. A symbol of their Covenant. Just like God sent us the rainbow as a Covenant with Noah that he would never again cause another great flood.

Women have enough to deal with. It was through women's dissobedience in the beginning that makes her go through pain in Childbirth. Now, women are justified by faith and through the faith of their spouse that Christ died on the cross for our sin in order to pay the penalty for sin so we didn't have to receive eternal damnation for our sin. Since God is holy, nothing unholy may enter heaven. Sin is not allowed in heaven so unless you accept the sacrifice God gave to us as payment for our sin, How could we possibly accept anything else God has for us, let alone to live in his Holy presence in Heaven? Circumcision was a step of faith Abraham took out of love for his God. That covenant as well as the faith was passed down from generation to generation as a testimony and as a promise that Abraham's offspring would remain God's chosen people. Tweet
