I firmly believe that God can and still does miracles when He so chooses, I'm living proof of that. However God's miracle always perform a high purpose of favoring His children in times of need or illness. Something done by the hand of God may defy the laws of nature, and a few skeptic observers, but irt will always bring glory directly back to God. We have all seen silly 'supernatural' stuff that neither benefits anyone nor brings any particular glory to God. ie; those strange sightings where statues bleed, pictures shed tears, etc.

I can agree with you that God might sustain someone's life miraculous for an imposibly long period of time when that person is unable to reach food, or is imprisoned for his faith, or some other unusual circumstance. But in the end this would only be a divine intervention to keep someone alive while the hardship is taking place, with the idea that once the situation is over, the person would eat normally again, say nothing of giving ample testimony of the miraculous grace and goodness of God. In this way I'm sure that if we search for the testimonies of martyrs present and gone by, we might find many such testimonies. But the purpose is clear and there's an objective, not some twisted man made attempt at reaching a deceptive spirituality.

I appreciate these questions. They are certainly not the mainstream fare and they sure have made me think of stuff I don't usually thnk about. Oooh I love challenges like that!
