Production of HCL
Hi
I made a post a few weeks back regarding the need for HCL to kill candida.....and I'm happy to see some of you have had some benefit too : )
Anyway, I just thought I'd mention something which could be of importance: SALT intake. I've been extremely health aware the last years, making almost every meal from scratch meaning no processed, pre-packed products. This also means I am getting little salt as in my search for excellent health I've read over and over again how important a low-salt diet is. I therefore seldom put salt (sea salt of course)in my meals. Well, I've had very low blood pressure for a long time now and started to do some research. I realize that my salt intake is dangerously low as sodium, despite having a bad reputation, is important for a lot of bodily/mental functions. I was amazed to find that one of these is:
"Salt provides a key building block for stomach acid. This improves digestion which is often compromised with this illness (Lyme disease). The relevant formula is that the Salt (NaCl) mixes with water and carbon dioxide, producing hydrocloric acid and sodium bicarbonate. This is expressed as: H2O + C02 + NaCl == NaHCO3 + HCl.
Salt increases the enzyme elastase in our tissues which punches holes into the microbes and
parasites and makes them vulnerable to our immune mechanisms."
