Re: tips from someone not yet 50
SqueakyClean, this is just my lay person's understanding.
There is a general theme of Hot and Cold.... it's evident in things as diverse as the Sitz Bath method, for instance, as well as the elements that make up weather conditions. Somebody might think I'm crazy to suggest that the elements involved with determining today's weather wherever you are are the same basic kinds of elements that affect a person's "health weather" so to speak. Depending on the elements, weather can be calm, clear, sunny, cloudy, wet, windy, stormy, hold, mild, cold and pretty much anything in between. Here in central Pennsylvania we are treated to a general climate where all of the previous condtions can happen all within a few hours on the same day :) Likewise, a person's health can be loosely considered to range from calm, stormy, and everything in between.
The nature of Hot and Cold compared to each other is not unlike other natural elements that surround us in this world, like Positive/Negative, Male/Female, High (pressure) / Low (pressure)..... ever known anyone that people/friend/acquaintences would remark "yeah, they have a tendency to run hotNcold".
What does this all mean?.....wish I could say, but I dunno for sure. I am pretty sure that when there is a particular arrangement of Hot and Cold floating around - in the upper atmosphere of the earth or perhaps the inner atmosphere of the human body, there are side effects being caused, and these effects can alter other elements, like circulation. Circulation is really another name for Weather, some days the circulation is sort of at a standstill or blocked due to the particular arrangement of Hot and Cold air pockets in the atmosphere, Cold Fronts/Warm fronts causing the pattern to sort of stay still for a while, which means whatever the weather may be ni a given area, it's not going to change much for a while. Eventualy something changes with the overall makeup and forumula to these elements, and the weather starts moving again, so to speak.
Don't know the full answer, but somehow your father's situation - coming in out of the hot and sleeping in the cold, disrupts his personal weather system in a way that encourages this health condition that, ironically, over the years has come to be known as "a cold"...... maybe he's really suffering from a "hot"..... ?.... or, this just came to me, when one does a Sitz Bath in the method MH has regularly instructed, does this mean we are purposely causing our lower digestive tract/colon to experience "a cold"? When I get a cold, I tend to get discharges out of various orifices of my upper respiratory tract. When I've tried the Sitz Bath, this tends to promote discharge from the orifice of the lower digestive tract....... why?
