I'm so sorry to hear your friend is still in the hospital -- that is horrifying. I'm not surprised about the infection though -- I saw that one coming. Is she doing anything to DEMAND appropriate care? I'd encourage her to get another surgeon in there pronto and not take this lax attitude about the whole thing. She could wind up dead from this! 7 days of pain is 7 days too long! How can she praise the surgeon for this? Are you sure she's not hallucinating from what's going on in her body?

I hope she makes it through this okay, but I worry about her future. She has a long road ahead of her unless she takes action now. Have the docs done an ultrasound -- are they going to do anything about the infection (that surely was caused by stones floating in the abdomen). Or are they just waiting for her to die?

I'm so sad about this, and will keep your friend in my thoughts.
